Simple Present

I write

Simple Present tense is used when :
1. the action happens all the time or habitually, in the past, present and future
2. the action is general truth
3. the action is not only happening now
4. the statements is always true

There are three exceptions in making this sentence :
1. We do not normally use the auxiliary (do, does) in a positive sentence
i.e.  TRUE  : She goes to school everyday
FALSE : She does go to school everyday
2. We add -s, -es at the end of the verb for the 3rd singular person
i.e.  Mrs. Lusi teaches chemistry every Monday.
Mrs. Ida explains the subject to the students.
3. If we use to be in sentence, we do not use auxiliary verb.
i.e. TRUE   : The students are on the court
FALSE  : The students are do on the court

Look at these examples below:
1. Meutia and Frida are dilligent students.
2. The headmaster asks the teacher to give rewards for the students if they have good achievements
3. One of my friends doesn't want to do his task.
4. My father and my mother don't go outside today because it's holiday
5. The students don't like to have lots of assignment on their holidays.

Let's test your understanding by following the quiz below
1. Do you (write / writes) a novel?

2. He (do / does) not want to come to my party
3. (Are / Is) we too busy in doing exercise?

5. You (look / looks) so happy today
